Southwest Quilts is a small pattern company that features the work of Jan Cabral. Since moving to Colorado in 2001, Jan has fallen in love with the southwest in general and with rock art in particular. Jan is the co-owner of Quiltshops.com, a group of over 175 quilt shops on the Internet, where you can search for fabric and other quilting merchandise across all shops with only one click. Jan and her business partner, Bob Nick, provide e-commerce and class schedule database driven software to the quilt industry.

Jan has been involved with the quilt industry since 1990. Jan Cabral taught computer graphics to quilters and fiber artists nationwide from 1992 to 1996. She has been on the faculty of the Quilt/Surface Design Symposium 1992 thru 1996, Houston International Quilt Festival, 1993 and 1994, Quilting by the Lake, 1994 and 1995, New York Quilt Festival, 1995, The Surface Design Association National Conference in 1995, and Vermont Quilt Festival, 1996. During these years, Jan was also Caryl Bryer Fallert's computer guru. Jan retired from teaching in 1996 after her husband was diagnosed with cancer (he's doing just fine now :) Since then she has devoted her time to Key to the Web, LLC, the parent organization of Quiltshops.com

Jan's work has been featured in American Quilter, Quilter's Newsletter Magazine, Ladies Circle Patchwork Quilts, and Quilting Today. She has a chapter in The Needlecrafter's Computer Companion by Judy Heim. Jan is a member of the Art Quilt Network She currently resides in Castle Rock, Colorado in the summer and Peoria, Arizona in the winter.
